Description

In Chinese lore, there is a set of women named as the Four Most Beautiful Women. These women are renowned through all of time for their wondrous beauty.

This statue depicts 楊貴妃 (Yang Guifei), Emperor Xuanzong's most valued concubine. The statue rests in a pond at the Huaqing Pool, an area especially cultivated and constructed by the emperor for her where the emperor and his consorts would often retire to bathe and relax.

In this era, the Tang dynasty, plump women were considered more desirable than their skinny counterparts. This statue was made by a modern artist, so he made her appear a bit thinner than she usually appears as in ancient Chinese paintings. Just keep that in mind, girls :D During the most illustrious and prosperous time in China, fat women were looooooooved.
