Rooster in Singapore

Here's what I've been slaving over for the past day or so... I vastly underestimated the time I would spend on this. Freaking FEATHERS!!!!

This was really hard; I couldn't figure out how to portray many parts of the bird accurately. Like the texture of the wattle.. or the weird pointy feathers. It wasn't helped by the blurry reference photograph.

And I can't take good pictures.... wheeeeere are the even light sources? Or better yet, a scanner? So much detail was lost because I had to use a camera and then edit the pic in Photoshop so it wouldn't be all dark...

I drew this for the =Birds-Club's domesticated birds contest.
