How Much Is That Owl In The Window? meet Franklin, the juvenile spectacle owl at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh! He's sooooooo cute. He reminds me of a supertall furby. He's named Franklin after Benjamin Franklin, who invented bifocals. His parents are on display in the Wetlands exhibit... he's much cuter than his parents  just a giant fluffball! In the first pic he's dozing, in the second he's staring at visitors as they pass, and in the third he has just woken up and he's moving his head around to figure out where noises are coming from, because owls do that to triangulate the position of whatever they hear. CUTEST BIRD OF PREY YOU'LL EVER SEE! (actually owlets are pretty damn cute too) print now available! |
